This is college coaching for the amazing, quirky, flawed, and magical person you already are!
ABOUT INTENTIONAL ADULT
Who am I?
Hi! I’m Alex (they/them)! With over 15 years of experience in higher education, I know a thing or two about college success! I know how scary this transition can be, and I know what students need to be successful during the transition into college. I’ve helped countless students transition to college, get through challenging periods, and build confidence as the begin adulthood.
What sets me apart? I focus on you—not test scores, college rankings, or societal pressures. My goal is to help you uncover who you are, what makes you thrive, and what success looks like for you.
That clarity builds confidence as you step into college and beyond.
How can I help?
Through motivational coaching, needs assessment, and family conversations, we’ll explore what you need from a college or university. Then we’ll focus your application so you stand out and feel confident. Finally, we’ll work together to develop skills for success and independence

First things first, don't be nervous. We'll start with a free consultation to determine your needs and talk about how the college search is going. From there, I typically recommend starting with EXPLORE package, but each student’s needs are different. Let’s make your next step intentional!

The transition to college isn’t a quick one, but depending on your needs, we can meet just a few times, or for a whole year on and off. Each package includes 2-4 coaching sessions, but I’m here to help, so sometimes students need more check ins, and that’s okay!

I love some of the books out there, and I have a great resource library if you want to borrow anything. A few of my favorites are The Stressed Years of Their Lives, How to Raise an Adult, and The Power of Habit.

I started my college search with many different interests in mind. Going to a challenging high school, I thought I needed to get into an elite, liberal arts college. After visiting many (many!) schools, nothing felt like a great fit, until I went on a weekend visit to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. It was vibrant and creative and the programs were unlike any I’d seen before. It was an instant fit, and studying art changed my life in many ways. I love sharing my story of self-discovery, so reach out to hear more!

I have a BFA in Fine Art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and my Master’s in Education from DePaul University in Counseling and College Student Development.
I am currently pursuing my LGPC licensure, and may add mental health services to my work in the future.
